I found my new favorite Pho spot! Hidden away, right in front of me! It is so cute inside, would have never known. Randomly looking for a soup spot and found it! And the oxtail pho price is the best around. I will be exploring the menu.
The Bun Bo Hue is legit here. I've been to a couple of other pho/Vietnamese restaurants and their Bun Bo Hue was very subpar. I wish this place wasn't so far out of the way for me, but by far the most authentic Vietnamese grandma's Bun Bo Hue I've had in a long time from a restaurant.
The food was really good here, very nice staff and a nice place to drink and enjoy time with friends. Would definitely get the shaking beef again this was so flavorful
Tried mango salad and bun cha ha noi. I've been on the hunt for a good bun cha ha noi place for a while, ever since My Canh restaurant on MLK closed down. The next closest to the deliciousness of flavor was Ba Bar for the bun cha ha noi dish, then shortly during COVID they took the dish off the menu and it has not returned since. I ordered the mango salad for family to share. The family enjoyed the dish, daikon carrots were crisp and the salad overall was flavorful. The bun cha ha noi pork belly tasted exactly as expected (good thing), not dry. The sauce is a bit different from what I remember but still very good. I'd definitely order again.
I'm writing a short update to share SAGO has revised their menus such that they are now half Vietnamese food, half Cajun style type of seafood (think Crawfish King). The Vietnamese menu is accordingly reduced. Some of the popular dishes are still available, such as the steamed rice cake and shaking beef. I had looked forward to a full Vietnamese meal but was disappointed at the reduced menu. When I ordered a Viet Crepe, I was told they sold out for the day. It's 5pm on Sunday, and we were the only table at the entire restaurant. Doh. We looked at each other, thanked the server, and left. I decided to keep my original 4 Stars rating as I previously had enjoyed our many take-outs during the restaurant closure period. I had looked forward to a dine in experience. Now, I don't expect to return. Very unfortunate.
